Cozy in Love Spaces turned a pile of bark and slab of concrete into Petite Patio Perfection!

Dream BIG, just on a petite scale

Start by dreaming up what your perfect petite patio would look and feel like. For me, I wanted something classic with a black and white checker tile and charcoal gray brick. Layering with rugs, pillows, and blankets brought in the cozy. It was important to have a sitting area, lounger for enjoying the sunshine, as well as a bistro table for those yummy BBQs. I envisioned warm, summer nights under the strung lights.

Design the layout + pick out the perfect materials

With my design boards in hand, I visited the local showrooms to pick out the tiles, brick, turf, and pebbles. I chose to do hand renderings for the patio and walk-way to communicate my vision to the contractor with the exact layout and patterns. One of my favorite design elements turned out to be the stairs with a chalk dust tundra brick facade.

Relax, enjoy and create memories!

One of the main reasons for creating our dream patio was to address our dogs bringing in bark dust with them every time they went outside…it was driving us crazy! Now our house is bark-free (ha! at least the kind with slivers…) and we love our petite patio. It is the perfect space to enjoy a Barre3 or Studio KSL workout with fresh air and blue skies. The Porto chairs were a splurge, but they are amazingly comfortable to cozy up in and catch up on the day with loved ones. Plus, they have Sunbrella cushions which will stand the weather and test of time. If you can’t find me…I’ll be out on the petite patio perfection!
