We have all the design details you will need to become centered and uplift your soul.

Over the previous year and a half I been more intentional about taking time for mental health, either through the Barre3 retreat I attended last year, attending the RISE Healthy + Happy Virtual Conference this fall, and most recently setting up my own purposeful Meditation Corner.

The 2019 Barre3 Retreat was magical, taking place in the middle of the Redwoods on a beautiful property. I was able to attend with a very good friend and we did plenty of exercising our bodies and minds. We assessed our values, took time and space to breathe, and I have to admit there were more tears than I expected with our fireside chat. I’ll come back to some of the key items that I took away from that weekend that I incorporated into my Meditation Corner.

Let’s get down to it, using the structure set by Jay Shetty, who I was introduced to through the RISE Healthy + Happy Virtual Conference, of considering the 3 S’s…Sights, Scents, and Sounds.

Sights

The most important thing for me was to make sure I had a cushy spot to sit in while meditating. The answer was a custom Filling Spaces Cushion in their Sicily Teal on White fabric with leather handle accents. We love working with Filling Spaces and offering our clients access to their beautiful, custom work. A Himalayan Salt Lamp gives a soft glow and is known to purify the air, reduce stress and depression, and assist with Feng Shui in your home.

Since the Barre3 Retreat, I have been interested in learning more about crystals and their energy. I always carry a Rose Quartz in my makeup bag of my purse, which is known as the stone of Gentle Love. Also, I picked up some Meditation/Inspiration Cards, including “The Universe Has Your Back…” and “Practice You Daily Awakening”.

Scents

I wanted to create a spa-like experience, so I purchased Sandalwood and Eucalyptus essential oils. Candles also help to set the tone.

Sounds

Finally, I like to use the Calm app and love the woman’s soothing voice. A Relaxing Massage playlist also is a good option.

Now that you have all the essential elements to setting up a Meditation Corner in your home, get ready to feel Zen! You may choose to meditate, pray, journal, or even color…but no matter what you decide to do, know that you are taking care of you and that you are worth it and loved.
