BEDFORD HOME OFFICE RE-DESIGN

Cozy~in~Love Spaces transformed and re-designed our home office during this crazy time in quarantine, giving it some beauty and love. Now the space allows for working from home happier, organized, and more manageable!

Throughout the years of living in my home, the office has been on the back-burner. It has been the “pet room” with stacked dog and cat cages, the storage room for old rugs and staging items for design projects…and really no place for a creative to create in! To be honest, I would say, it was actually an embarrassing room for an Interior Designer, lol. Check out a few photos throughout the years, including when the carpet was ripped out and tile flooring was put in with the expertise from PNW Hardwood & Tile. I especially love the photo of where the window drapery fell and the holes were left patched for maybe a couple years, lol….a complete mess!

This last March rolled around and we all know our everyday lives drastically changed with COVID-19 and Stay at Home Orders. I quickly realized that if I was going to be working full-time at home, my current set-up was not going to cut it. So, the dog cages were moved out and the room was reclaimed as a home office. Lots and lots of cleaning and organizing ensued and now I LOVE my office.

I have had my eye on the Bedford Project Table so I could have lots of space to set out design boards and samples. I decided I needed to take some measurements and throw everything into a 3-D model so I could figure out the best space planning for the room, as well as design a gallery art wall. I spent quite some time figuring out the perfect lay-out for the gallery wall and had some help from my design assistant!

The end result was a beautiful display of mirrors and loved artwork from local artists, Monika Kralicek and Lisa Jensen.

Storage was a must, and closed, as I hate looking at clutter! So, I went basket crazy with the new Studio McGee line at Target and Threshold (don’t forget to Shop the Look below and on our SHOP page!)

A special shout-out to Elizabeth of Elizabeth Hite Photography who took these amazing photos of Icelandic ponies, where the green pastures popped, along with the other sprouts of greenery throughout the office. Also, a beautiful handmade pillow by Trouvaille Lifestyle Shop was just the right shade of periwinkle to add some color to the linen office chair. If you have not signed up for the Cozy~in~Love Spaces Newsletter, get on it, as we are proud to offer a special 15% OFF exclusive code for Trouvaille pillows!

Finally, a corner of the office was devoted to displaying a special clock I picked up at the Paris Flea Market last September while on the IDS in Paris trip, as well as my Oregon Home Mag Structure + Style Design Award!

Overall, although I wasn’t planning to re-design my office, I am so glad I did!! This space gives me serenity and an area to let my creative juices flow.
